Commercial Manager
As the Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies that drive revenue & player growth across Italy, Spain and the Nordics, with a focus on localised campaigns.
Working closely with the Head of Commercial, your role will involve setting our strategic direction across three key territories, management of commercial marketing efforts and collaboration with brand, acquisition, performance and CRM teams. You will oversee a team of three direct reports and ensure alignment between local market experts and the broader performance marketing strategy. Experience in the Italian Gaming market is desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Market-Specific Strategy Development: Lead the development of commercial strategy for Italy, Spain and the Nordics, driving player acquisition, engagement and revenue growth in each market. Ensure all strategies are tailored to local player preferences, regulations and trends.
- Regional Collaboration & Team Management: Manage a team of three growth leads with local market expertise to execute campaigns that align with tombola’s objectives and meet regional growth targets in Italy, Spain and the Nordics.
- Player Volume & Revenue Growth: Own the strategy to drive player volume and revenue in target regions. Collaborate with acquisition, brand, promotions, loyalty and CRM teams to build tailored campaigns that resonate with the local audience and grow our player base.
- Support the development of tombola’s B2B strategy: Assist in the development and execution of the tombola bingo network, ensuring alignment with the overall commercial approach while considering regional differences.
- P&L: Work with the wider marketing team to ensure budget for Italy, Spain, and the Nordics is efficiently allocated to deliver the highest ROI. Monitor spending and provide recommendations around optimisation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with brand, acquisition, CRM and performance marketing teams to execute integrated campaigns. Ensure alignment between regional activity and broader company goals, fostering a collaborative approach to achieve key commercial objectives.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use market insights, data, and analytics to track campaign performance, adjust strategies, and optimise for growth. Work with the wider performance marketing team to regularly report on KPIs such as player acquisition, revenue and ROI to senior stakeholders.
- Market Expertise & Insights: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitors, and player behaviour within Italy, Spain and the Nordics. Use this knowledge to identify new opportunities for growth and stay ahead of market developments.
- Influence & Stakeholder Management: Influence key internal stakeholders (including senior leadership and cross-functional teams) to ensure alignment and buy-in on regional commercial strategies. Build strong relationships with both internal teams and external partners in key markets.
- Compliance & Responsible Gaming: Ensure all regional marketing activities comply with local regulations and responsible gaming standards. Work with legal and compliance teams to mitigate risks and maintain the integrity of the brand in each market.
Key Skills & Requirements
- Marketing Strategy Expertise: Proven experience in developing and executing market-specific commercial marketing strategies, particularly in the online gambling or similar industries (e.g., e-commerce, gaming).
- Local Market Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of the Italian, Spanish, and Nordics gambling markets, including regulatory requirements, cultural nuances and player preferences. Prior experience in the Italian market would be highly advantageous.
- Collaboration & Team Leadership: Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team of direct reports. A collaborative mindset with experience working cross-functionally to achieve business objectives.
- P&L Management: Experience managing a marketing budget and optimising spend for maximum ROI. Ability to balance growth goals with financial efficiency.
- Communication & Influence: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and persuasively to senior stakeholders. Ability to influence decision-making across different teams and levels.
- MS Office Proficiency: Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, for data analysis and reporting.
- Fluency in English and Italian: Fluency in English is essential, with proficiency in Italian being a key advantage for managing the Italian market. Fluency in Spanish or other languages (e.g., Swedish, Danish) is a plus.
