Sounds great! What will I be doing? 🔎
As a Mid-Level Software Tester at tombola, you will focus on the testing of tombola’s web, mobile, and app platforms across multiple territories. Your work will involve a mix of manual and automated testing. While hands on experience is important, having an ISTQB Foundation Level Certification is preferred to demonstrate your knowledge of testing principles.
What will I be doing? (But in bullet points) 🧐
- Predominantly team-level, delivering primarily through others and cross division (working with other departments); with experience, collaborating with peers in other teams as part of your division.
- Enabling the software development team to deliver high quality games with reduced development times due to reduction in defects and bugs.
- Impact level is dictated by mastery of skills, mastery of techniques and domain knowledge.
- Game Development Cycle
- Working with product managers to review the game requirements
- Generate user stories and test cases
- Component testing, working with developers on tasks
- Ongoing collaboration with developers and product managers.
- Facilitate wider user testing and triage issues
- Compliance and regulatory testing as scoped out by the senior testers.
- Integration and regression testing
- UAT
- Component testing of BAU work (live games/game improvements/fixes)
- Execute test scripts and document bugs
- General exploratory testing, looking for areas the user experience differs from what is expected.
- Monitoring the test board in Jira
- Compatibility testing of our products on upcoming major OS updates

- Reasonable domain knowledge of game behaviours, business rules, and regulatory requirements
- Surface level knowledge of software development life cycles
- Surface level knowledge of software development methodologies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Basic ability to define test specification from game requirements.
- Ability to identify problems and initially investigate at root cause level.
